Internet, DSL & Mail Settings

This section contains information to assist current customers with setting up a STRATA NetworksInternet connection. Use the links below to jump to the area desired

WebMail - To get your email via your Web Browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape, etc.) visit our WebMAIL site by entering the following URL into your browser: http://67.148.184.11/WebMAIL/login.aspx

Email Client Settings - To pick up your email using an email client package, use the following settings:

Specific detailed email settings for Outlook Express are available

General mail client settings:

  • POP Server: pop.nctelecom.net
  • SMTP Server: smtp.nctelecom.net
    • POP Authentication Username: Your Email Address
    • POP Authentication Password: Your Email Password

Dial-up Settings - There are different procedures for Windows XP and Vista.

XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections.
  2. Click Create a connection to the network at your office.
  3. In the Location Information dialog box, enter the appropriate information. Click OK, and then click OK to close the Phone and Modem Options dialog box and start the New Connection wizard.
  4. In the New Connection Wizard, click Dial-up connection, and then click Next.
  5. Type a name for the network to which you are connecting (such as "NCT"), and then click Next.
  6. Type the phone number for the network to which you are connecting, 826-0900, you do not need the area code and "1" prefix unless you are dialing from out of the local calling area.
  7. Specify whether you want this connection to be available for anyone's use, meaning for any user on this computer, or for your use only, meaning only for the user who is now logged on.
  8. Specify whether you want a shortcut to the connection on your desktop.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. When asked for your username and password, enter yhour STRATA Networks username without the @nctelecom.net
Vista
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections.
  2. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  3. Click on Set up a connection or network under Tasks
  4. Select Set up a dial-up connection
  5. Choose "Use the following configuration Settings.
  6. Dial-up phone number: 826-0900
    User name: Your Username without the @nctelecom.net
    Password: Your Password
    Connection Name: NCT
    Note: Check the "Remember this password" box if you would like Windows to remember your password
  7. Click "Create"
  8. You have now created a dial-up connection to STRATA Networks's modem bank. You may now access the internet through this connection.

T1 and other high capacity circuits

For customers with high-capacity T1 circuits, support is available 24 hours a day. Before calling for service, check your router, CSU/DSU and NIU to ensure that the trouble originates outside of your demarc. Service charges may apply to trouble tickets that are resolved to a problem with customer premises equipment. T1 customers can call toll-free 866-NCTELECOM (866-628-3532)
